Horses: Dressage, Hunters

It was a blast from the past to go out where I used to take lessons and keep a horse many, many moons ago. The daughter of my instructor is all grown up and has made the farm her own business.

I took over 500 photographs and am slowly weeding through and editing some each day. My friend and I loved being inside the indoor arena to smell the horse smells of sawdust and leather.

If you were at the show and see yourself here, feel free to leave a comment...I will be adding more jump and dressage photos in the next week or so...I took too many photos to weed through in a day (500 !!)

New Hummingbird Feeder

All hummingbird feeders should have a perch. Seven of mine do, but this one does not. It also has no ant moat which is a real pain. This is pretty and made of glass but I can't believe the good price had me forgetting the lack of moat.....and perch.

Those feet are so cute as she tries to hang on, poor thing...right next to here is feeder with landing perch at the port.

Also, please NEVER feed your hummingbird red food coloring..the stuff they sell aimed at these little birds is wretched and can cause problems. Making your own syrup is so easy. Four cups water to one cup sugar. Bring to a boil, stir and let cool completely before putting into feeders. Store leftovers  in a glass jar in the fridge. Will keep for a week.

Butterflies!

Ok, so it was a dreadfully gray day and of course, I stumble onto a Monarch Butterfly!! so I tinkered with some photos more than others.
